Tutorial: How do you Kumihimo a Chevron Bracelet Pattern

The Commonthread team is in love with kumihimo disks! We have been creating new patterns to share with you. This is our fun and colorful Chevron Bracelet Pattern. Make one or make many, it takes under 20 minutes. See the tutorial video below for a step-by-step on how to make this bracelet.

 

Supplies

Materials:

Kumihimo Disk
4 strands of floss or craft thread about 36” long
Scissors

History:

Kumihimo is Japanese for “gathered threads.” This technique of braiding strands of silk was used to create intricately colored chords. Samurai's once used kumihimo as laces for their armor. Today the technique has spread to the crafting world in the form of bracelets.
