st – stitch
sc – single crochet
3 dc cluster – 3 double crochet cluster sc2tog – single crochet two stitches together (decrease)

Stitches Used

3 double crochet cluster: Yo, insert the hook into the st, yo and pull up a loop. 3 loops on the hook. Yo and pull through 2 loops. Yo, insert the hook into the same st, yo and pull up a loop. 4 loops on the hook. Yo and pull through 2 loops. Yo, insert the hook into the same st, yo and pull up a loop. 5 loops on the hook. Yo and pull through 2 loops. 4 loops on the hook. Yo and pull through all 4 loops.

Notes

  • Patterns are worked double stranded throughout. Work one strand from each color together as a single thread.
  • The rounds are worked in a continuous spiral.
    Do not join with a slip st. Do not turn at the end of each round. Use a marker in the first stitch of each round to help keep your place.

Secure the last stitch and cut the yarn leaving a 6: 8” tail. Fill the ornament with polyester fiberfill. Using the tail and a tapestry needle, gather, close and secure the top of the ornament.
