Whip up this vintage 50’s style sunglasses case tonight. A quick and fun project with just a bit of colorwork makes a standout accessory.

Some previous experience with colorwork helpful.

Body Image - Knitted Glasses Case

MATERIALS

    • 3 - 50g balls of DMC Woolly
    • 1 each of colors 074, 123 and 101
    • US 6 (4 mm) knitting needles
    • Yarn needle, DMC Tapestry Needle size 13

Gauge:
23 sts and 25 rows = 4” x 4” square in Stockinette Stitch on a US 6 (4 mm) knitting needle.

St/s – Stitch/es
K – Knit
P – Purl

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 42 stitches.
Row 1: P38. k4.
Row 2: K42
Rows 3 – 8: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 three more times.
Continuing this 2 row repeat, follow Diagram 1 using colors 123 and 101.

Work Rows 1 and 2 for an additional 24 rows or the number needed to fit your sunglasses.
Bind off leaving a long tail for sewing
Seam the bottom and side.
Weave in the ends.
