The Possible Project: Stitchables Designed by High School Students
Last year we had the pleasure of collaborating with students from Boston’s The Possible Project. This entrepreneurship center provides high school students with training on running their own business. Through this guidance, students learn essential life skills such as professionalism, confidence, resilience, and teamwork.
We had such a wonderful experience there the first time that DMC decided to sponsor a semester this year. Students were given the choice of entering the DMC-sponsored “Maker” track. There, they were tasked with the challenge of coming up with a stitchable design. After being presented a number of awesome designs, we picked our two favorites and are so excited to bring them to you.
Each stitchable provides a perfect canvas for our matte cotton thread, which is now available online by the skein.
Check out this video to meet the two students behind these two thoughtful designs.
Design one: The stitchable tissue box.
The sneeze just got a little more DIY! This laser cut wood box features four stitchable sides. Included with the box itself is the ever-so-wintery snowflake pattern fashioned by our DMC creative team. Go ahead and A-CHOO-se this imaginative design. It transforms a commonplace item like a box of tissues into a home décor piece.
Design two: The stitchable coaster set.
What’s smarter than re-imagining every coffee table’s BFF: the coaster. With its stitchable center, this set of four coasters allows you to add your talented touch on a necessary accessory. And thanks to our creative team, you'll be feeling merry with this holiday inspired pattern.
Another successful collaboration with The Possible Project! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future. The possibilities are endless…
Love & Threads,
The DMC Team
